APEKS MTX-R DIN

The MTX-R is based on the MTX, a regulator that was developed in accordance with the very cold water test of the US Navy's Experimental Diving Unit. Thanks to innovations in its design, the MTX-R operates in near-freezing water to a depth of over 60 metres.

The MTX-R offers excellent performance in cold water and considerably reduces the risk of continuous flow. This has been achieved through a number of improvements, including an innovative end cap and environmental diaphragm, a forged body for the first stage offering maximum thermal preference, a ribbed clamp and a redesigned and enlarged heat exchanger for the second stage, with metal incorporated into the front cover design.

First stage

  • - Suitable for use in cold water (below 10°C / 50°F).
  • - Unique over-balanced diaphragm design - as the diver descends, the over-balancing function allows the medium pressure gas in the hose to increase at a faster rate than the ambient temperature. The result is superior performance at depth.

  • - The 5th medium pressure 3/8" UNF port includes a protective bumper when not in use.

1st and 2nd stages, octopuses, pressure gauges and regulator hoses, valves and cylinders are category 3 PPE. Assembling these components requires special knowledge and skills, and sometimes special tools, which are only available to trained technicians.
