UNDERSEA Centre Ltd has manufactured high-pressure valves and fittings for professional and technical diving for several decades. The 6000-PM is the panel-mounted variant of the UNDERSEA needle valve range. It fits directly into dive shop and dive centre filling panels. Each full turn of the handwheel lifts the seat by exactly 1 mm. This allows controlled, repeatable flow adjustment at pressures up to 414 bar. The rubber handwheel ensures comfortable operation even with wet hands during long filling sessions.

Technical specifications

  • Manufacturer reference: 6000-PM
  • Type: Needle valve — panel mounting
  • Service: Compressed air only (oxygen version: ref. 6000-PMO)
  • Body and shaft housing: Chrome-plated brass
  • Seat and shaft: Aluminium bronze — optimum resistance under repeated pressure cycles
  • Inlet and outlet threads: G 1/4 (BSP), compatible with all UNDERSEA accessories
  • Maximum working pressure: 414 bar
  • Test pressure: 620 bar (1.5 × nominal working pressure)
  • Handwheel: Rubber — secure grip in wet conditions
  • Flow precision: 1 mm seat lift per full handwheel turn
  • Panel fixing: 2 × M6 stainless steel screws included
  • Supplied with: drilling template and installation instructions
  • Flow coefficient (Kv): available on request from UNDERSEA Centre Ltd
  • Manufacture: part-assembled to order — typical lead time 2-3 working days

Applications

The UNDERSEA 6000-PM needle valve is designed for professional and club dive centre filling panels. It controls airflow from high-pressure compressors or bank cylinders to charging hoses. It integrates into manifold systems, multi-outlet fill banks and buffer storage assemblies. G 1/4 threads connect directly to UNDERSEA gauges, hose connectors and manifold blocks — no adaptors required. The valve also suits technical diving gas management setups requiring slow, metered air transfer, including stage cylinder fills and panel bleed-down procedures at UK and US PADI or BSAC centres.

Key features

  • 1 mm/turn precision: fine, repeatable flow adjustment for slow fills and controlled pressurisation sequences
  • Aluminium bronze seat and shaft: superior wear and corrosion resistance versus standard brass — extends service life in high-cycle filling environments
  • Rubber handwheel: comfortable grip under wet workshop conditions, reduced operator fatigue during long filling sessions
  • Universal G 1/4 interface: direct connection to all UNDERSEA HP gauges, manifolds and charging hose connectors
  • Complete supply: M6 stainless screws and drilling template included — no additional hardware required
  • Dedicated air service: materials and seals optimised for compressed air, ensuring long-term panel integrity

Warranty and compliance

The UNDERSEA 6000-PM is manufactured by UNDERSEA Centre Ltd (Southampton, UK), a specialist in high-pressure diving valves and fittings. This component is designed for compressed air service within professional filling panel installations covered by the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (PED). Test pressure: 620 bar. The PED Declaration of Conformity is available on request from UNDERSEA Centre Ltd. Ensure compliance with all applicable local pressure equipment regulations before installation. Always refer to the supplied installation instructions. UNDERSEA manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
