FEATURES AND BENEFITS

• - The Tek 3 combines all the advanced technology of the Apeks first stage range.
• - The outlets are designed to allow perfect symmetry of hose routing and are oriented downwards for the requirements of technical diving.
• - It allows optimal accessibility to the valves when using two-bottle blocks.
• - The innovative DCE system allows the diver to modulate the size of the whiskers, short or long, the latter allowing the bubbles to be drawn backwards to improve the field of vision. Both versions are included with the regulator.
• - Compensated second stage for easy, smooth breathing
• - The XTX purge button is large and easy to operate. It is progressive and offers two flow rates. Press on the sides for low flow, convenient for controlling the inflation of a parachute. Press on the center for maximum flow, ideal for purging a regulator.
• - Reversible second stage and interchangeable right/left hose configuration can be mounted on either side of the first stage. Operation is quick and easy but must be performed by an Apeks authorized technician.
• - Available in DIN
• - Braided hoses are standard on all regulators. They are lighter, more flexible and more resistant.
• - EAN40 compatible ex-factory (non-CE only).

FUNCTIONALITIES

First stage TEK 3 L+R

• - Compact machined first stage based on the expedition-tested Apeks DS4 platform.
  - The innovative overmoulded first stage end cap and environmental membrane help prevent frost build-up which can cause seepage into the first stage in extreme circumstances. It also protects the first stage from impact damage.
  - The large-area heat exchanger membrane clamp helps raise the gas temperature inside the first stage, improving cold water performance.
  - Unique overbalanced diaphragm design: as the plunger descends, the overbalancing function allows the medium-pressure gas in the hose to increase at a faster rate than the ambient temperature. This translates into superior performance at depth.
  - 2 HP ports and 4MP ports.

Second stage XTX50

• - The pneumatically-balanced second stage provides smooth, easy breathing.
  - The XTX's bleed buttons are large and easy to use. A two-stage progressive bleed is used - press the bleed to the side to get a lower flow rate, useful when more control is needed, e.g. for filling lift bags etc., then press in the centre to get the full bleed effect, e.g. when the regulator empties etc.
  - The large venturi lever has a soft rubber handle, making it easier to find and use. The lever reduces sand ingress and therefore resists any possible friction, allowing smooth operation.
  - The easy-to-grip opening effort control knob keeps the diver in control.
  - The second stage is manufactured with active infection protection as all moulded parts are produced with an additive that kills MRSA, protects against E-Coli, bacteria and fungi, and is also highly effective against viruses, moulds, yeasts and algae.
  - A silicone exhaust valve improves the regulator's breathing performance.
  - The Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece virtually eliminates jaw fatigue.
  - A heat exchanger (patented) that surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipates the cold caused by expanding gases while attracting heat from the surrounding water.
