Harness to leg straps

A complete SRT caving harness system relies on three interdependent components: the sit harness, the chest harness, and the lateral straps that connect them. Without this link, the chest harness rides up under effort on the ascender and loses its function as a load-sharing element. Unlike improvised cord or generic webbing solutions, these purpose-made straps provide the correct connection geometry and consistent adjustment that proper vertical progression demands.

Setup and applications

Thread one strap through the lateral loops on each side of the sit harness waistband and the corresponding loops on the chest harness shoulder straps. Adjust while suspended vertically in your caving suit to match real progression conditions. The AVSP95 straps are intended for SRT cavers working vertical pitches, multi-pitch systems and long hauls with loaded tackle bags. Positioned laterally, they transfer a share of the upward load to the shoulders during prusik ascent, reducing hip fatigue on extended trips. They also keep the torso upright at rebelays, improving body position during manoeuvres. Aftercare: rinse in fresh water after use in wet caves, dry away from heat and direct light, inspect the textile before each trip. Compatible with the AV Muruck (AVSP01) and Tecnibat (AVSP02) sit harnesses and all AV chest harness models (Spelshoulder, Spelshoulder Pro).
