A snapgate carabiner in AISI 304 stainless steel, used in combination with caving descenders (pulley or figure of 8) on a single rope.
The most important feature of this patented carabiner is that it allows the user to vary the descent simply by moving the rope into the narrow section of the carabiner, eliminating almost all downwards force.
In addition the carabiner is equipped with a stainless steel twisted ring which can be clipped into the semi-circular maillon on the harness.
This ring makes this carabiner suitable for all descent speeds on any type of rope.
It is small and light and does not exert any damage on the rope.
Nano: the evolution continues! After the Nano Wire and the Nano 23, the Nano 22 is even lighter, with more features and security. The Nano 22 features a special design compared to its predecessor, with greater open-finger resistance. The improved nose protects the lever while the special curvature and total absence of protrusions facilitate string sliding while limiting wear. Its lighter weight is due to the sections and not to a reduction in size. The exceptional mechanical characteristics make the Nano 22 the ideal carabiner for mountaineering and adventure terrain, where less weight means more chance of success. The softer finger at the end of the stroke ensures that the carabiner runs smoothly. Ideal for carrying equipment (especially mechanical belays) on the harness, the Nano 22 is available in 8 different colors coordinated with those of the most commonly used mechanical belays, allowing for immediate size identification. MAESTRO S is a descender designed for technical rescue operations. It facilitates manipulation of heavy loads, for lowering or hauling, and may be used in both the primary system or in a back-up belay. This versatility allows rescuers to adapt to any situation they may encounter on the rescue scene. The ergonomic handle and integrated brake allow for comfortably controlled descent. Shifting from lowering position to hauling position is immediate, without the need to transfer the load. The integrated progress-capture pulley has a large diameter sheave mounted on sealed ball bearings, ensuring excellent hauling efficiency. The AUTO-LOCK system automatically locks the rope when the handle is not in use. Once locked, the rope can be taken up without having to manipulate the handle. The MAESTRO S descender is compatible with 10.5 to 11.5 mm ropes and allows handling of loads up to 250 kg.
