FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • - Four medium-pressure ports, all mounted on a rotating turret. This optimises hose routing while eliminating sharp bends in the hose.
  • - It is equipped with an innovative Diver-Controlled Exhaust (DCE) system. This system allows the diver to switch from a small exhaust tee to a large exhaust tee. This gives the user the choice between a wider exhaust tee for minimal bubble interference (essential for underwater photography) and a narrow exhaust tee for a smaller, more comfortable regulator. The regulator is supplied with two sets of exhaust tees.
  • - An optional 5th port is available for side-mounted or two-cylinder installations.
  • - Can be converted from a right-hand hose configuration to a left-hand configuration.
  • - The process of converting the regulator to a left-handed configuration is both quick and simple. However, this procedure should ONLY be carried out by an APEKS authorised service technician.
  • - Braided hoses are now standard on all models. These hoses are lighter, more flexible and more durable.
  • - Suitable for use in cold water (below 10 C / 50 F).
  • - EAN40 compatible right out of the box.

FUNCTIONALITIES

First stage

  • - Satin-finish brass body with heat exchange ribs for maximum thermal performance.
    - The innovative over-moulded first stage end cap and environmental diaphragm prevent ice build-up that can cause the first stage to flow freely in extreme circumstances. It also protects the first stage from impact damage.
    - Ribbed diaphragm clamp to improve heat exchange in cold water conditions.
    - Unique over-balanced diaphragm design - as the diver descends, the over-balancing function allows the medium-pressure gas in the hose to rise faster than ambient pressure. The result is superior performance at depth.
    - 5 medium-pressure ports, 4 of which are mounted on a rotating turret for better hose orientation.
    - 2 angled high-pressure ports for optimum hose routing and transmitter mounting.
    - Double swivel hose for greater freedom of movement and comfort.
    - Overmoulded DIN wheel, easy to grip, requiring only one hand to release.
    - DIN 300bar, 232bar thread.
    - Octopus tested - EN250A up to 60 metres in cold water.
    - Compatible with nitrox and oxygen - up to 40% O2 outside the EU (European Union), in the EU anything above 21% O2 must use an M26 connection.

Second stage

  • - The pneumatically-balanced second stage provides smooth, easy breathing.
    - The XTX's bleed buttons are large and easy to use. A two-stage progressive bleed is used - press the bleed to the side to get a lower flow rate, useful when more control is needed, e.g. for filling lift bags etc., then press in the centre to get the full bleed effect, e.g. when the regulator empties etc.
    - The large venturi lever has a soft rubber handle, making it easier to find and use. The lever reduces sand ingress and therefore resists any possible friction, allowing smooth operation.
    - The easy-to-grip opening effort control knob keeps the diver in control.
    - The second stage is manufactured with active infection protection as all moulded parts are produced with an additive that kills MRSA, protects against E-Coli, bacteria and fungi, and is also highly effective against viruses, moulds, yeasts and algae.
    - A silicone exhaust valve improves the regulator's breathing performance.
    - The Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece virtually eliminates jaw fatigue.
    - A heat exchanger (patented) that surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipates the cold caused by expanding gases while attracting heat from the surrounding water.
